Peter Gorman, an adventurous journalist and ethnobotanist, was renowned for his explorations in the Amazon and his in-depth study of ayahuasca. Starting his journey in the 1980s, Gorman extensively wrote about and experienced the psychedelic effects of various jungle substances, including ayahuasca and sapo. His adventurous spirit led him to live with the Matsés people and create an English-Matsés dictionary. Gorman’s final expedition, focused on plant research and cultural documentation, reflected his lifelong dedication to understanding and sharing the mysteries of the Amazon. His work has been featured in many publications and has earned him awards and recognition.
Peter died in April 24, 2002 at the age of 71.
